May Update

Yes, I do realize it has been a while since I've posted anything.

Long story short: a mobile Claire = less blogging.

Here are the updates:

15-mo check-up
Height: 31 in (69%)
Weight: 22.8 lbs (50%)
Head: 46 cm (94%)

Also, Dr. Malvey suggested a Magna doodle for our flight to DC with Claire.  Note to self, send Dr. Malvey flowers for being a genius.

Talking
It took us a little while to figure it out, but Claire's 1st word was 'ball'.  It's more like ba (hence why it took us a while to figure it out), but she says it!  After that came "hi" probably because we say it to Spencer every time we get home.

She has also been saying mama and dada a lot.  Although it seems sometimes that 'mama' really just means 'I want...".

This last weekend (in DC) was big - 2 new words! We got our 1st "please" and she even said "Pop Pop".  I didn't hear the 1st Pop Pop, but apparently it was something like papapapa.  Tonight we asked Claire "Guess who you get to see on Friday? Pop Pop and Grammy!".  She responded with papa!  We're working on the 'grammy' part now.

Also, at lunch on Tuesday Claire wanted one of my sweet potato fries.  Uncle Dan told her "say please" and then pees - how exciting!

Photo updates
Fun with hat and mittens in the spring.

Hey Mama - those are for my hands!

When Claire wants to get away she "hides" against a flat surface.

So excited for the alphabet song!

A few weeks back we went to the zoo with friends Eric, Ally and Henry.

Claire is very big into hugging these days (no complaints here!).  We didn't even prompt her for this - she went right up to the metal bear statue and hugged him!  It was adorable and we thought we wouldn't get a picture, but she just kept hugging him.

Woah - getting a little handsy...

Henry seems to be considering the idea of hugging the bear.

Ok, I'll try it!

So much love.

We use whatever we can to entertain her when we have to change her diaper. (Usually she screams as if we are changing her diaper with hands of fire).

Looking good - just like mom!
