Halloween Bonanza

What's great about having friends with kids (specifically girls) is that you get to steal all their Halloween costumes!  This year, Claire again had a wardrobe change.  Seriously, you can't be seen in the same costume twice, am I right?

We started the haunting festivities at the MN zoo with Gma Ellen.  Her first costume was a fairy, aka "Pinkalicious".  "It was a rainy day...to wet to go outside..." oh wait, I don't have to recite the whole book now...

Getting the gear on in the car.

Double checking to make sure Dad has placed the booties on correctly.

Checking to make sure mom and dad hadn't snuck off.

Faster Gma, faster!

Checking out the monkeys.

This has to be my favorite...

We lost the headband and the smile, but we were still having fun!

Or not...

Snack time!  One of Claire's favorite words is "app-oh".

Anya was quite impressed with the shoes.

Whenever we read Pinkalicous now, Claire points to the girl in all pink and exclaims, "Anya!!" Wonder where she got that from!

Explaining the facts of life to Aunt Trisha.

This is as close as we got to a group photo.

Costume change!!  For Halloween night Claire was Dorothy (thanks Raleighs!).

Back of Wicked Witch!  You're not getting my Toto...or my meow!

I think she's belting out "Somewhere over the Rainbow".

That night we hooked up with the Raleigh clan and trick-or-treated with our buds from daycare.  All the girls came running out to greet us - well mostly Clairesy - when we arrived.  (Pictured here are Fiona and Bobo).

Heading to our first house!  The week before, we practiced saying "trick-or-treat" with our Little People an our Little People house.  Though I didn't hear any "trick-or-treat"s that night, I did hear some "tay-tu"s.  (Translation - thank you).  I'll take it!

Claire got pretty good at making sure there was a spot for her at the door!  All the neighbors knew her from daycare and gave her extra candy...which went right to mom and dad :)  Don't worry Claire, next year you can eat some of your own candy.
