4th of July

4th of July found us at the cabin, as usual.  We had a new crew up, the Anderson originals plus their significant others. Quite a nice weekend.  The Koepkes and Martins couldn't join for different reasons and we missed them but we'll get our cabin weekend together later this summer :)

Ryan, Claire and I had the place to ourselves Thursday night, so Claire got to sleep in Uncle Max's room :)  We love her dearly but try to sleep in the same room as little as possible!  Max and Maureen came up on Saturday so Claire moved into our room.  I was advocating for her to sleep on the landing outside Gma and Gpa's room but Ryan didn't want to wake her up to move her, so she slept with us.  At about 5:15am Ryan decided she could sleep on the landing the next night.  Coincidentally this was also when Claire woke up and was chatting to herself :)

Saturday was beautiful so mom, dad, uncle Max and Mo went out on the boat for some skiing and knee boarding while Gma babysat.  Later we brought Uncle Mitch, Kalin and Claire along.  Though this wasn't the smartest decision as the boats had multiplied while we were away and it was super choppy!  I got nervous with Claire on the boat so I wanted to head back.  I kept telling myself the boat has never tipped over yet, the boat is NOT going to tip over.  However that didn't help me any and every turn I was certain we were all going in!

MANY thanks to Gma who not only babysat so Ryan and I could do kid things (boating, skiing, kayaking down the Crystal River) but also got up early several mornings to take care of Claire so we could sleep.  THANK YOU!!

Here is a picture of a humming bird that flew into the window.  We thought it died but it was just stunned.  He sat on the deck for a while then flew away.

Here is Claire hanging under her tent.  It was a genius move to buy a sport-brella that we could put up on the beach for her.
Notice she has neither her swim bottoms nor the swim diaper on.  Apparently swim diapers are made for 22 pound babies.  Seeing as Claire is only about 15 when she pees it goes all over her suit, the diaper and the chair she was sitting in!

Hangin' w/Gma in the lake.

Bath time.

We finally ALL made it out for a booze cruise! The first two nights one of us stayed back w/the sleeping baby while the others went out.

Here is a great pic of Claire's "highlights".

We were on the opposite side of the lake when we took this picture.  That is an important fact to know because shortly after this picture was taken Claire filled her drawers...and it started raining!  There is a lake ordinance that says you can only make a wake from 10-5.  We broke that rule to get back to the cabin :)  Turns out she didn't have a blow out.  She saved that for Monday (and Uncle Mitch) just before we left.

Awwww....
