1st Fever

Well, we all survived Claire's 1st fever.  We came back from St. Cloud on Sunday, Claire was getting pretty fussy and quite warm so we took her temperature.  It did take us about 10 minutes to first figure out which of the 6 thermometers we wanted to use and where we wanted to take her temperature.

We decided to try under the arm...though she's kind of wiggler (for those of you who may not know!) then we resorted to the rectal temp.  It took two of us to finally get it - 102.9!  Call the doctor!!  We followed the instructions of more Ibuprofen and rocked.  (I definitely don't want to see her sick - but I must say I did like the snuggling!).

I stayed home with her on Monday - lots of snuggling :) Kalin even came over to watch Claire during her nap so I could run an errand.  We went to the doctor (after being there on Fri for her 9-mo appt) and got a strep test - negative.  Monday night she still had a temp so Ryan "stayed home" with her on Tuesday (they went to visit Aunt Trisha at the aquarium!  She took a nap in the car on the way home and then stayed up til 8:30!!).  They also went to the doctor...again...because she had a rash on her tummy and face.  Now we know that's normal after a virus - who knew!

Today she is back up and running - or army crawling.  Though the sleep schedule is still not quite on track, she took a 30 min pm nap and was out at 6pm!

I'm sure Jen (our daycare provider) will get her back on track soon enough!
