Mary and I decided to be adventurous and take all three kiddos to an Apple Orchard (sans husbands). We had quite the adventure, and learned many a lesson.
It's not like we became moms yesterday, we do know a few helpful tricks. The following are things we did well on our apple orchard adventure:
#1: left early in the morning in order to get back home by nap time
#2: packed snacks in case kiddos got hungry
#3: brought camera to capture memories
#4: brought directions
You'd think that, with as planned and organized as we were, nothing could possibly go wrong...wrong.
The following are lessons we learned:
Lesson #1: check online before visiting an apple orchard to make sure you can actually pick apples
Lesson #2: double check distance from home to orchard
Lesson #3: pay attention on the drive home so you don't end up on the scenic route
Lesson #4: do not exit onto a hwy (as it is apparently impossible to get back onto the interstate)
Lesson #5: do not follow signs that point towards McDonalds...it does not exist
Lesson #6: apple cinnamon donuts don't cut it when little kiddos are starving
Lesson #7: even stressful memories are worth making!
The girls spent most of their time running around the open field.
I think Anya was trying to tickle Claire. She was pretty excited about it.
Those girls are C-R-A-Z-Y!
They also enjoyed the playhouse.
Danger, danger! Getting sleepy...
Quick - feed them apples, that will keep them awake.
Thanks Seppala family!
