Winter 2012 Recap

Apparently putting your house on the market takes up a bit of time - hence no postings since New Year's (sorry Papa!).  But, now that we've been kicked out of the house for a few hours (1st open house) I have some time!

Here is a recap of our winter activities...

Nickelodeon Universe
Thanks to our Christmas shopping at the MOA, we earned a ton of free points to use at Nickelodeon Universe.  We invited Anya, Finn and Nate to join us (oh yes, and their parents too).  Fun was had by all, except when Nate was terrified of the bus :)

The Dora train is one of Claire's favorite rides.  What is super fantastic is the bench you (the parent) get to sit on is about 4" wide.

Good thing this circulating bus ride is only a few minutes long...Mommy was getting a bit carsick.

Nate and Anya wanted to ride the carousel, Claire didn't want to go. Oh, wait - she didn't want to go until the door was closed and the ride had started.  Then the REALLY wanted to go.  So Daddy stood in line with her to take a turn.  Though, once on, she was too scared to ride the moving horses.  If you look close enough you can see Daddy and Claire on the very safe, unmoving bench.

One of my favorite parts of the day...the monster trucks.  As on most rides, an adult needs to accompany the child.  Our child wanted to drive the truck, which meant her adult got to ride on the top.  Ryan is such a good dad!

That's Megan and Nate in the blue truck.

UP Ski Weekend
After a 2-year break, we planned our annual ski trip to the UP.  We also brought back the tradition of staying on the hill.  It's much easier to rotate in and out and have someone hang with a munchkin when you are on the hill!

We might need to look for a smaller pair of boots.

Or better yet, just go with a diaper and pink snow boots.

There was much running round the condo in this ensemble.

Why change for dinner?  Spaghetti is messy, might as well eat naked.

Uncle Mitchy and Nonnie, just being themselves.

Awww...brother (in-law) love.

I think they might have been singing...

...or playing chase.  Hard to tell.

Still no clothes.  Apparently one gets a bit loopy when kept in the lodge all day!

At the end of the last day we went sledding right outside the lodge.

Though it may not seem like it, Claire really did enjoy herself.

Our condo was on a terrain park hill.  Apparently you're not allowed to sled on the hill (as we found out from the Blackjack employee moments after this photo was taken).  He was very nice though and simply said, "Just want to make sure you're no sledding on the hill".  "Of course not!" We replied, holding a bright blue plastic sled in our hands.

Weeeeeee!!!!!

Papa even got in on the action (ski boots and all)!

We would sled down the little hill, then carry Claire back up.  Next time we should really figure out a way to make her do more of the work!

And the weekend would not have been complete without a snowman!

Here is our photographer.  She's excellent at sprinting the 50 yards from where she set the camera to the hill where we took our photo!

Until next year!
