Hard to believe, but our little bundle of energy/songs/dancing and hugs turned 3 this year!
The 12th was on a Tuesday and we weren't sure exactly how to celebrate in the middle of the week. A mom at gymnastics class mentioned her family was going to Perkins that week with the grandparents to have breakfast for dinner - genius!
The 3 Swiderskis headed to Perkins in Edina for a breakfast-for-dinner birthday celebration. I was a little skeptical, but it was AMAZING!
Reasons why Perkins is perfect for a 3-year old's birthday:
- Kids eat free on Tuesdays (which is good because Claire ate 1/2 of 1 pancake for dinner)
- There was a clown there named Snowball
- Snowball does free face painting!
- You get a free balloon
Amazing.
...and a unicorn after dinner!
Following dinner we came home to a pile of presents in the living room. The favorite toy - Squinkies! (Thanks Jen and family!).
The following weekend, Nonnie and Papa came up for the party! I was truly glad they made the trip, as I had kind of assumed at some point they wouldn't need to make the 4+hr trip up for every birthday.
For the third year in a row, Kalin made Claire's dessert. This year she did a 2-layer, pink cake! It was pinkalicious! (See what I did there?!?) I think Kalin was temporarily blinded by all that pink...
Happy Birthday Claire!
A picture with our favorite baker :)
I asked Claire if she wanted to try and cut the cake. She declined (good thing too, it was a bit tricky!)
I think she likes it!
Love from Uncle Mitchy.
Henry thought it tasted pretty good as well!
Elizabeth thought she would be sneaky and cut just a little bit more for the birthday girl.
Apparently people ignore the "no gifts please" clause in the email. Claire didn't mind :)
And a card that turns into a crown - amazing!

Claire is taking after Auntie Moe with the unicorns. She'll be a DPhiE yet. :)
