We Made it to Midnight!

That is a pretty big deal, because we were all debating the possibility of celebrating New Year's on East Coast time!

We discovered that, if you have a belated Christmas that goes until 10:30, it makes it easier to make it to midnight :)

But let's start from the beginning.  We headed up to the cabin on the 28th (what a great day).  The snow slowed us down a bit, but we didn't miss a fabulous birthday dinner of steak and lobster!

It snowed all that day - and the next, which made for great outdoor activities!

Gotta get bundled up first!

Contrary to what it looks like, Claire is making a snow angel, not napping.

Kalin got in on the action.

The happy couple :)

Fun in the sled.

I'm not sure if she was sticking her tongue out at me or catching snowflakes...we'll go with the latter.

Sledding with Nonnie.

Surprisingly, all 3 (well 4) of us fit in the sled together! I'm pretty sure Claire got a face wash during this ride.

We should really get a kid-sized shovel at home too.

Daddy made up a new game on the ice.

Checking for fish.  (The ice - under the snow - was so clear you could see the bottom of the lake).

At one point - long, long ago - he was my little brother.

Unfortunately, this game is more taxing for the pull-er than the pull-ee.

I think Claire really did like riding in the sleigh (just don't look at her facial expression).

Back inside to warm up - with a little Taylor Swift (thanks Kalin!), crazy Uncle Mitchy and hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course).

New Year's Eve dinner - fondue!

Moe was kind enough to share her AMAZING peppermint bark cookies...mmmmm....

Dessert tray (thinks to students at Glacier Creek and Normandale).

Someone (or a few someones) had apparently been very good this year! (That, or we invited GGma Muriel.  She almost got left behind because there was no more room in the car!)

There's only one thing that makes this one happy - a full whiskey sour.

Showing off the belly.

Ryan's artistic shot (from the reading nook upstairs).

Example 8,934 of Nonnie an Papa's creativity - ice candles.

Ryan really enjoyed this bottle.

We made it to midnight!! Yeah family :)
