* Note to the reader: we may have been a bit overzealous with the camera, seeing as it was a big event. So, get a glass of wine, grab a blanket and get comfy. This might take a while.
This year, for the first time, Ryan, Claire and I stayed in Eden Prairie for Christmas. It was exciting starting our ow traditions. Though, it was definitely different being the parents (the organizers) and not the kids (the relaxers)!
We had a wonderful holiday FILLED with family!
Christmas Eve
Grammy and Pop Pop were in town and we all went up to St. Cloud on Christmas Eve to celebrate with the Bach clan - all 22 of them!
Grammy and Claire showing off their Christmas outfits.
The ladies!
A good view of the adorable hat - that she actually did wear a little bit!
Jumping - this is one of Claire's favorite games.
Almost got a cute mommy-daughter picture.
Checking out the mismis tree with Grammy.
A decent family shot.
Apparently someone let out a stinky...
...I'd blame it on Payton.
Ryan, Claire and I drove back home after dinner so we could be home for Christmas morning.
Christmas Morning
The first gift was given to us by Claire. We'll chalk it up to a growth spirt, but for the whole break she slept in past 7. Thank you Claire!
Part 1: After some snuggling together, we started our morning with stockings. Wrong one Calire, that's daddy's...it's empty.
That's the right one!
Insert pause: we needed time to eat, dress and pack up distraction toys for Christmas mass.
Part 2: all dressed (including a Hello Kitty necklace) and ready to get back to presents.
One of Claire's new toys - a Barbie pony.
Uncle Mitch and Kalin stopped by for Mimosas...oh yeah, and to see Claire :) They also brought a present or two (or five) for their favorite niece - including kitty pjs!
We also Skyped with Bapa and Nonnie. Here Claire is 1) sporting her new kitty hat and 2) giving Bapa a juicy kiss.
Christmas Evening
Grammy and Pop Pop came back from St. Cloud in the afternoon so we could celebrate our Christmas together.
Kickin' back
Grammy and hippos on an IPad, what could be better?
Woah! Jackpot: Grammy, IPad and applesauce!
Aren't we cute!
She really got good at ripping off wrapping paper.
What's this??...
Rock and Roll Elmo!
Claire has also been quite into bows, she found one more under the tree!
This next one is our favorite toys - Claire plays independently on it!! Thanks Auntie Kristin and Uncle Dan!!
The Stelljes' also gave Claire a doctor kit. She has been quite happy to check everyone's pulse (sometimes found in the eyelids).
Hmmm...I can't find a pulse. How do I break the bad news?
Daddy tried to show Claire where one's heart is actually located.
If you've made it this far, you have time for 2 more :)
1) Our living room after the festivities
2) our adult dinner table, Christmas night.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
