Couples No More

We have traditionally gone up to the cabin twice a year for a "couples weekend" with the Martins (ha ha...you posed for the picture!)

and Koepkes

However our couples weekends have now grown into family weekends as we have 2 new additions: Claire and Isaiah :)

The weekend "routine" has changed a bit from when we first started!  We were up a bit earlier, though both Isaiah and Claire slept like champs (which mom, mom, dad and dad loved!).  This also means we aren't up quite as late either!  We still cooked enough food for the entire lake and caught up on the latest, though again there was a lot of talk about daycare, diapers, sleeping patters and the "best thing" about being a parent.  Both Kristin and I said it was the smiles we get :)

Isaiah is only 3 weeks older than Claire and they got along quite well - look they're holding hands!

Here are Claire and Dad down by the lake (note she is not screaming like the last time we were here!)

Claire had many firsts this weekend.
1) First time "in" the lake (notice mom and dad aren't thinking of getting in, but we'll put our child in!)

 2) First "booze cruise".  Neither Claire nor Isaiah were loving the cruise.  Maybe we'll have to start earlier as to not be so close to bed time!

3) First kayak ride

P.S.  The new mommies had a first too! Their first bottle of wine together (we have a picture of the two of us with our "free" wine from last summer, FYI this one tasted MUCH better!)
