Before Claire was born Ryan mentioned that a colleague of his explained that each day (after your baby is born) is like 10 mini days - it's true.
I haven't posted very much lately because it all seems to run together! I eat, she eats, she poops, I clean it up, change her, feed her, pump, try to get a nap - get woken up 30 minutes later...That's part 1 of day 1, then we do it again and it's part 2 of day 1!!
To be honest I do miss feeling like I did something during the day! Every one says do 1 adult thing during the day - shower, send an email, fold laundry - and consider yourslef successful. That is QUITE a change from before!
She is a cutie and I love to snuggle with her (see above photo!). It's hard to capture on camera but he does make some pretty good faces, usually when she wakes up. Also, after I take her out of her swaddle she needs a good minute or two to stretch before I can dress her or re-swaddle her.
We had 2 REALLY good nights of sleep this week. Sunday night and Monday night she slept for 5 hours!!! Then about 4 and 3. Mom LOVED that. The only tricky thing is that the 5 hours of sleep starts at about 8:30. So I get to decide if I want to see Ryan at all or just go to bed! Needless to say we've been getting to bed much earlier :) Ryan also told me that he does wake up when I get out of bed to feed her...he doesn't hear her cry but wakes up to me getting out of bed! I have definitely developed bat hearing and wake up to her tiniest whimpers and grunts. This also makes it hard to get a nap in!
Speaking of a nap...I might try to get one in now. Then maybe a walk...but that may be too many adult things in one day! We'll see how it goes...
