It was wonderful to see them. Dan and Ryan also loved that Kristin and I had each other to ask our questions to:
- should I wake her up to feed her?
- If I wake her up now will she sleep longer?
- If she sleeps long at night should I pump?
- How many bottles do we need to take with us to the mall?
- Do you think she needs to be changed?
Ha!! Too funny - as I am typing this Kristin just texted me asking "Do I walk around in the windy, not-so-warm weather or wake Liz prematurely from her nap so she can get the keys from her jacket which is keeping Liz warm". I said "It's been 3 hours. Do I wake Claire or let her sleep so I can feed her at 9 instead of 8:30 for the last feeding.". In case you were wondering, I woke, Kristin walked :)
Also, you may have heard through the grapevine but Kristin and Dan are all-time babysitters now. Saturday night we had tickets to Gaelic Storm (Irish band) so our visitors got to watch our little darling. We got home around 11:30 and were in bed by midnight. Ryan lovingly said he'd take the first feeding. At 5:45 I woke him up (he doesn't quite have mommy hearing) to feed Claire. He asked if I had fed her already...nope...that means she slept from 9:30 to 5:45!!!!!!! I told Kristin and Dan they had to write down EVERYTHING they had done in the exact order so that we could replicate it!! The big secret was a smaller/tighter swaddle. We used the same swaddle the past two nights and it was miracle sleep again! I realize this will not last (though I am REALLY enjoying it at the moment!) but do have to keep reminding myself that. It was a bit odd though, how Claire's breath smelled of Maker's Mark...weird.
We also used the Bjorn for the first time. When I wore it I said it felt like I was pregnant again. When Ryan wore it he said if that was what being pregnant was like I was a wimp. Then he slept on the couch.
